Glazzard Architects worked alongside the family business, Holloways, to create a new showroom extension for the independent retailer, to showcase a large collection of contemporary living and dining furniture.
The new building simply and elegantly reflects the quality that has established Holloways as market leaders in ‘contemporary country’ home and garden living.
The simple, steel framed structure has a clean, contemporary, agricultural vernacular. Set into this, the mezzanine floor is set back from the building’s perimeter. This allows light to flood across the naturally lit showroom at both floors. It also offers a viewing gallery down into the large, double height zone at the building’s entrance.
