LECKHAMPTON

Located within Cheltenham’s central conservation area, Leckhampton Road is a contemporary new-build house providing approximately 250 square metres of accommodation.

The design responds carefully to its constrained site and historic context. Positioned behind a substantial Victorian house, the building has been shaped to respect the surrounding architecture while introducing a distinctly modern expression through its use of materials and construction.

The house is organised along a clear horizontal hierarchy. Private accommodation is arranged on the first floor, while the ground floor contains the principal living spaces, organised within an L-shaped plan that opens toward the garden.

This spatial arrangement is expressed externally through the material palette. A zinc-clad upper storey sits lightly above a rendered masonry ground floor, reinforcing the horizontal composition of the building while distinguishing the public and private elements of the home.
