PISTON DISTILLERY

Danks Warehouse, located in the historic dock area of Diglis Basin, is a locally listed warehouse building dating from the 19th Century.

It is an open plan space, with large timber truss work internally. Piston Gin relocated to the warehouse and have converted the building into a flagship events space as well as distillery for the Gin company. The building also accommodates offices as well as Piston Gin’s own Gin School which operates during weekend evenings.

The concept for the arrangement of space was to create a welcoming and generous entrance space with reception that then visitors through to the principle event space, overlooking the canal basin.

A central ‘pod’ area creates accommodation for a bar and kitchen with mezzanine office over the top, without diminishing the feeling of space and distracting from the building original open plan arrangement.
