Innovative and sustainable new entrance hub complex.

Thomas Dudley Limited is a well established manufacturer located in the heart of the Black Country. The business has grown incrementally over the last century developing from a foundry producing hardware for the drainage industry into a multi-faceted company working with plastics, ceramics and product design and development.

The project brief was to locate a new customer showcase on the site that could house the research and development side of the company. This quickly developed into a re-planning of the entire office function as well as reconfiguring the vehicular and pedestrian access and circulation for the site.

The first phase of the construction of the new office and customer centre was completed in August 2017. The master-plan exercise was a process of understanding many constraints on the site including working with redundant mine shafts, a principle A road through Dudley, complex security and delivery scenarios. In addition, the built form design is indented to be fit the character of the surroundings in material and form.
