Leckhampton Road, Cheltenham
Situated within Cheltenham’s central conservation area, Leckhampton Road is a new-build contemporary home with two hundred and fifty square metres of accommodation.
The house is a direct response to the site and the interplay of the functions within. Nestled behind a large Victorian house, the form has been carefully considered to respect the historic setting, whilst embracing modern technology and materials.
The house is designed along the horizontal axis, with the ‘private’ accommodation located on the first floor, and the ‘public’ living spaces contained within the L-shaped ground floor. This is reflected in the external cladding, with zinc-clad first floor perched on top of the rendered masonry ground floor.
